Derrick Fielding

Derek FieldingSelf-taught artist Derrick Paul Fielding was born in Walton, Liverpool in 1965. From an early age he loved to draw, usually on the back of rolls of wallpaper provided by his father Terry, a painter and decorator. Art was his favourite subject at school and when he left he served an apprenticeship as a sign-writer at nearby Aintree racecourse painting the enormous advertising hoardings dotted around the course. This period would influence his animation and graphic style of painting later in life. He now paints contemporary landscapes exclusively in acrylic on large sized boxed canvases that give his work the drama and impact that it is renowned for.

Living and working in the Lancashire village of Burscough Bridge, he takes great inspiration from the surrounding fields of cows, sheep, horses and many other animals. Family visits to the Lake District, Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands further influence his work

His original paintings and limited edition prints are sold and collected both nationally and internationally. Please enquire if you wish to commission an original painting or visit his website www.minigallery.co.uk/derrick_fielding
