WHAT’S ON AT THE WHARF

Burscough Heritage Weekend returns this year on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June from 10am until 4pm. Head back in time on both sides of the Leeds/Liverpool Canal at Burscough Wharf and The Stables.

Burscough Wharf Heritage Weekend

 ALL WEEKEND – 10am – 4pm

  • Treasure Hunt FREE Bus rides from Ormskirk to Burscough Wharf provided by Merseyside Transport Trust – please see separate timetable
  •  FREE Children’s old fashioned fairground ride
  •  FREE Horse & Carriage rides round Burscough Village – 11am – 3pm
  •  Carriage and horses with W H Booth livery in the courtyard
  •  Various vintage vehicles outside the front of the Wharf and in the courtyard.
  •  Craft stalls to include spinning & lacemaking demonstrations

SATURDAY – 10am – 4pm

  •  Canal History Walk – 11am and 2pm
  •  Skelmersdale Prize Brass Band playing in the courtyard – 2.30pm to 3.45pm

SUNDAY – 10am – 4pm

  • Canal History Walk – 1pm
  • Family Treasure Hunt – 2.30pm
  • Skelmersdale Prize Brass Band playing in the courtyard – 1.30pm to 3.30pm
  • Images of Burscough Photographic Exhibition in The Arts Centre – 10am to 4pm

BURSCOUGH HERITAGE WEEKEND – FREE BUS TIMETABLE – MERSEYSIDE TRANSPORT TRUST

  • Service commences at Ormskirk Bus Station at 10am and then every hour on the hour until 3pm.
  • Return journey from Burscough Bridge Interchange from 10.30am and then every hour on the half hour until 3.30pm.
  • The bus will also stop at the normal bus stop in Burscough Village on each trip.

Canal side:

  • Historic 1930s/1940sAinscough Mill iron working barges  Ambush & Viktoria on display
  • 1960s iron dredging boat , Yorkshire boat Venus

12.00pm 3.30pm Lancashire Music from Mark Dowding 

The event will be 1930/1940 themed with volunteers in costume of that period.
